Keep Up With The Latest Weather Conditions In The Myrtle Beach Area
Sun-drenched beaches, warm waters, and gentle ocean breezes combine to offer you the perfect
climate for your next vacation getaway. Join the millions of visitors who frequent the Myrtle
Beach, South Carolina, area throughout the year - and lose yourself in a comfortable climate
and abundant sunshine. Experience the mild temperatures and scenic location that make Myrtle
Beach America's #1 beach and golf resort destination.
Speaking of climate, the weather in Myrtle Beach is similar to Florida's. Air temperatures
are generally warm throughout the year, but a near-constant ocean breeze ensures a mild
temperature on land. The ocean water along our 60 miles of coastline is about 20 degrees
warmer than in North Carolina, Virginia, and other states to the north. In fact, the average
temperature of the ocean water off the Myrtle Beach coast is almost identical to Florida's.
Discover a magical vacation destination, with a fantastic seasonal climate, including:
-
Summer in Myrtle Beach can best be described by two words: warm and sunny.
Air temperatures average around 90 °F, ocean water temperatures average around 80 °F,
and rain is uncommon. And because Myrtle Beach is bordered by the Atlantic Ocean - relatively
close to the Gulf Stream - inclement weather patterns are often short-lived and move along
rather quickly.
-
Fall in Myrtle Beach offers near-perfect weather. Air temperatures are typically in
the low 80s °F, and ocean water temperatures are usually in the high 70s °F. Because
the ocean takes weeks to cool off after the summer season, fall is an ideal time to visit
the beach - if only to enjoy a leisurely walk through the soft sand and warm water.
Generally, temperatures are consistently warmer than those of states to the north,
including North Carolina, Virginia, and Tennessee. In addition, mild temperatures
and minimal rain make fall a great time for outdoor activities and dining.
-
Winter in Myrtle Beach is best described as cool and comfortable. Air temperatures
typically range in the mid-60s °F, but may occasionally dip down into the 50s °F.
For those looking to enjoy the bright sunshine without the heat, winter in Myrtle Beach
is very inviting. Unlike states to the north - including Virginia, North Carolina, and
Tennessee - Myrtle Beach does not have to plan for snow, sleet, or ice during the winter.
-
Spring in Myrtle Beach is warm and inviting. Air temperatures typically range in the
70s and 80s °F. The ocean water begins to warm up in February, providing a wonderful
respite throughout the spring - especially for those visitors from the north who have
endured a long, cold winter. And for travelers from nearby states such as North Carolina,
Florida, Tennessee and Virginia, Myrtle Beach receives minimal rain in the
spring - averaging less than one inch weekly.
